Israel is pushing to modernize its free trade agreement with the United States, Economy Minister Nir Barkat confirmed on Monday. The move aims to safeguard the nation from potential tariffs, as Israel remains one of the few countries largely unaffected by recent U.S. tariff policies under the Trump administration.
An upgraded pact would facilitate smoother data-sharing protocols, enabling deeper economic collaboration. Israel has already conceded to several U.S. demands, including the removal of tariffs on American agricultural products. The negotiations come as a proactive measure to prevent future trade disruptions.
